Henri Marcel Named New Partner (01/17/05)

Deasey, Mahoney & Bender, Ltd. takes pleasure in announcing that Henri Marcel, an associate with the firm since 1998, has been elevated to partner in the firm. Henri has extensive experience handling insurance coverage and bad faith matters, professional liability matters, wrongful death and medical malpractice cases, motor vehicle actions, and workers' compensation and general liability matters.

Henri came to the practice of law in 1991, having gained experience during the five preceding years as a Registered Nurse in the neurology/neurosurgery department of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. After earning his J.D. degree from the Temple University School of Law in 1991, Henri practiced during the next seven years with two litigation firms in the Philadelphia area, handling a wide variety of personal injury matters. Since joining Deasey, Mahoney & Bender, Ltd. in 1998, Henri has focused primarily on insurance coverage/bad faith, professional liability, products liability and general insurance defense matters. He has handled numerous jury and bench trials in Pennsylvania and New Jersey state courts and has successfully argued a number of high-profile legal issues before the Pennsylvania Superior and Supreme Courts, and in the Federal Courts.

Henri and his wife, Susan, a psychiatrist, have two children ages twelve and nine. Henri is fluent in the French and Creole languages and has a conversational knowledge of the Russian language. When not practicing law, Henri is a self-described "rabid" fan of St. Joseph's basketball.
