Jones Act/Unseaworthiness. Successfully represented clients with regard to maritime personal injury claims by merchant seamen sailing on tankers, barges, tugs, and other commercial vessels.
- General Maritime. Effectively defended clients in connection with personal injury claims arising out of scuba diving and recreational watercraft accidents. The Firm has also defended vessel owners and operators in collision cases resulting in property damage to piers, buoys and similar fixtures.
- Breach of Charter Party. Represented clients in matters related to charterers' failure to make timely charter hire payments and their abandonment of charter.
- Commercial. Successfully represented a major oil refinery in a seminal case addressing the practice of oil tankers' siphoning and selling excess oil to meet standard trade allowances.
- Admiralty Attachment and Arrest. Aggressively represented clients with regard to attachments and seizures of vessels, cargos, and funds.
- Arbitration. Defended clients at arbitration pursuant to charter party agreements and in accordance with the Rules of the Society of Maritime Arbitrators. Clients include major United States oil companies, charterers and vessel owners.
